Ensuring a Culture of Care: Healthcare Training on Sex and Gender Diversity

Course Description:

“A Sexual Culture of Justice” Project partnered with the Regional Health Authority to offer this 5-Day Healthcare Training course on Sex & Gender Diversity. The course addressed sex and gender diversity and the challenges and barriers faced by LGBTI+ persons when accessing public healthcare. Sessions were held online using Zoom and other interactive online technologies. Facilitator-led presentations and group discussions tackled issues related to mental health, empathy, respect, privacy and new ways of providing care and service. The objective was to increase awareness and deepen understanding of the stigmas and discrimination faced by members of the LGBTI+ community – especially persons who are Trans and Intersex.
